I have bought some shoes they’re blue and I if you know that’s not my first pair of shoes. They’re cheap but I’ve actually had pretty good luck with them. Especially if you have larger cankles but you know kind of getting them on these are kind of lifesavers because sometimes it can be a little hard to get your fingers under there. Today we’re going to check out a new set of ALEADER Women’s Slip-On Athletic Water Shoes. These are made by a company called a litre. They’re based in China and they sent us courtesy a couple of pairs of water shoes to try out a pair for me and a pair for Brad and as you know when we do a lot of canoeing we spend half our time outside of the boat you know when it’s rocky, rapids and things like that.
We’re going to put these new shoes through their paces, so I don’t know what to think at first actually they’re interesting this kind of mesh upper I’m not sure how protected. It looks more like something I’d want to wear just kind of flopping around on the water and less may be going through rapids and where there’s debris.
I can see sticks and stones kind of getting through there same with the bottom and I don’t really see any laces to tie the shoe up, so I’m not really sure how it’s going to fit this in my size but we’ll see how the actual fit is once it’s on I’m not sure about traction either it’s got kind of like this raised mid area it looks like.
It’s going to have really good drainage but my first impression is it looks more like something to hang around at the dock do some swimming in weather you got rocks and stuff and maybe less, so for wading through a mucky nonsense just because there’s no place to keep it on you it does look like.

It would stick but I was really surprised how well these gripped rocks especially wet rocks but I what do you think about these shoes, so I feel this would probably best be suited for you know hanging around the dock going in a stand-up paddleboard or just cruising around the lake on a kayak they did do fairly well when you know submitted to beaver dams and having sticks and stones moving through them.
I did get a few sticks stuck in the bottom between the mesh and the sole every now and then but they actually didn’t go and push my foot, so it did stop the sole did actually stop the stick from hitting me I mean in terms of longevity if you’re going to take it on a canoe trip obviously if you’re going to do any serious walking take it off put on a proper shoe with ankle support anything with slippery rocks and stuff.
I was quite surprised I thought they were they weren’t going to be that well I thought it was kind of gimmicky at first all this mesh but you know it’s surprising too for no laces. They actually stayed on my feet they fit my feet pretty well and yeah they drained really quickly so that was a good thing as well.

This is where I’m having my problems so as you can see here this overlay meets up with the one coming down here and inside there’s actually you can feel it. It’s hard if you can see where I right there and the problem is that this hits my foot and when I took out the sock liner and I put my foot on top of it and my foot actually fits it exactly perfectly. So they’re not too narrow I don’t think they’re too wide they Just hit that spot of an overlay.

The padding is starting to wear away a little bit this is the tread after about a year and a half you can see starting to wear here and here a little bit over there. Saucony Ride 7 design is pretty much the same and you can compare it and see what it looks like after a year and a half as compared to the new so still, it’s not all that bad. I’m 160 pounds I don’t have any issues with higher low arches.

Since they’re seamed they did tend to sort of bothering me but they just kind of broke after a while and I changed my socks in it and it kind of worked pretty well. I’ve tried all of those things three times that I’ve run in the Saucony Ride 7 and I’m an agony after her like mile six because I can feel the blister. I finished nine miles this morning and sure enough, came home and there were a blister and an indentation.

I thought it would be good to kind of show you what I’m talking about I’m not sure you know what the purpose of this maybe it’s for support but for my foot, it just hits it in exactly the wrong place which is a shame because as you can see the toe box on the sevens is actually maybe it doesn’t look as good but it’s actually a bit wider it’s very comfortable shoe other than that.

This is in contrast to something like the Virata which you can feel kind of the supports in it but it has a seamless upper. These never bother my feet when I run in them I do usually shorter runs in these more speed work because they’re so light that’s such a low drop anyway that’s the issue that I’m having.

The shoes were comfortable right out of the box and the size was dead-on after. I had him for about 6 or 8 months I liked them so much and I thought it was such a good value that I bought I went to buy another pair and by then the Saucony 9 had come out so this is the first pair that I bought and just like the Saucony Ride 7 have you have a removable insole in there and there also seem to be very comfortable haven’t worn them yet of course but once these started to wear down.

About 6 weeks ago I bought another pair of Saucony Ride 7 again I think they’re a very good value for the money there’s probably you know better-constructed shoes but you’re going to pay quite a bit more. It depends on what size you wear if you know the price could be higher or lower so anyway good value comes in men’s women’s and kids to a certain extent so if you’re looking for a decent you know every day wear shoe might be worth the look.
